Using hashtags has been shown to increase followers' engagement with posts. Ripl uses hashtag-predicting software that suggests hashtags based on the text in your post. It's important to double-check the caption on the final share screen to ensure the hashtag is relevant to what you want to share. You can delete any suggested hashtags and/or add your own.
You also have the ability to turn off the hashtag suggester. To do that on the mobile, tap the Ripl menu in the top left corner of the main screen, then tap "Business Profile Settings," and on the web app, click on "My brand" then select "Extras." You'll see "Include Hashtag Suggestions" where you can tap that switch to toggle the feature on or off.
