Our ads feature is designed to help you create, set and track your ads in one place. We'll take care of the details for you!
Q. How do I create a Facebook ad?
A. To create an ad in Ripl, you’ll want to navigate to the “Create an Ad” button near the top right of your screen. From there you’ll land on the Customize screen where you can edit your ad with the editing tools available for you on the left side of your screen.
Alternatively, you can click on “My Ads” at the top of your screen, then select “Create new ad” or you can select a template from our Facebook & Instagram ads collection. This collection is located on your Home screen.
Once your ad has been customized, you’ll click “Share”, then “Submit as an ad”.
Q. How do I navigate my ads details screen?
A. There are three different sections of the details screen that you’ll need to fill out. Please see below for an explanation of each one.
Audience: With each audience, you will need to select a gender. If all genders are your target audience, please make sure to select “All”. Otherwise, you can select either “Women” or “Men”.
Each Ad needs to have a minimum and maximum age. You can choose any age between 13-65+. Please keep in mind that Facebook will reject ads shared with minors if there is a legal restriction for the product or service. Please raise the minimum age range to at least 21 for ads including alcohol and at least 18 for other adult products/services.
You will need to choose a U.S. State, City, or ZIP/Postal code. As you start typing a location, a dropdown of accepted locations will appear. To ensure your location is valid, please select a choice from the dropdown.
Duration & Budget: The duration and budget section are where you establish how much and how long Facebook will run your ad. The duration section will default to a standard 7-day ad, but you can conveniently change this range by clicking on either the start or end date section and selecting a day in the calendar dropdown. Facebook will run your ad for the exact amount of days you select in this section
The budget section allows you to determine how much you want Facebook to spend on your behalf. The higher the budget, the more eyes will see your ad. Keep in mind that Facebook requires a budget of at least $1 per day so if the number of days your ad is set to run exceeds the dollar amount selected in the budget, Ripl will adjust the budget selection accordingly or display an error message.
Details: You can personalize your ad in the primary text box and include your website’s URL right below. By typing in your own message, viewers will have a better idea of your company and what kind of ad you’re promoting.
Q. Can my post be turned into an ad?
A. To turn your post into an ad, first navigate to My Posts. From there, you can select one of your posts from the My Posts or Schedule tab and then click on the “Make it an Ad”!
Q. Is there a limit to how much credit I can have on an ad?
A. The maximum budget per ad is $2,000.
Q. How do I know if my ad is going to Facebook and Instagram?
A. All of the ads created through Ripl are placed according to Facebook’s best location. They will select where and how to show your ads to make sure you get the best results.
Q. My ad was rejected, what’s next?
A. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with your account information and we will investigate, then provide you with the next steps.
Q. How do I connect my Facebook Page to my ad account?
A. Please ensure the following things are true before starting the ads flow:
- You have a valid Facebook account
- Your Facebook Page needs to be published (Facebook Support article: How do I publish or unpublish my Page?)
- Your Facebook account needs to be an admin of the Facebook Page (Facebook Support article: How do I manage roles for my Facebook Page?)
- You must be a "Business Admin" of the business that controls the Page (Facebook Support article: View and Edit Permissions in Business Manager)
Q. Can I connect multiple Facebook Pages to my ad account?
A. You can connect one Facebook Page to your ad account. As we continue to work on this feature, we hope to add the ability to allow for multiple Pages on one ad account!
Q. Can I edit my ad after it's been submitted? After it's active?
A. No, you cannot edit your ad unless it was rejected and editing is required for approval.
Q. Is there a limit to how many days my ad can run for?
A. This depends on the budget you set for the ad and the audience you select. Facebook will run your ad for the exact amount of days you select in this section. We recommend running your ad anywhere from 7 - 14 days.
Q. How do I cancel my ad?
A. Please reach out to email@example.com with your account information and the customer support team will help with cancelling your ad.
Q. What happens if my budget is not spent over the time of the campaign? Do I get a credit from Facebook on my account for any remaining balance?
A. If the entire budget is not spent, Facebook will provide us with a refund of the remaining amount and that will be applied as a credit to your Ripl account which you can put towards your next ad.
Q. If Facebook decides that my campaign is rejected, what happens to my budget? Is it refunded, credited, or other?
A. If your campaign is not approved, the budget you set will be applied as a credit to your Ripl account which you can put towards your re-creation of the ad or towards a new ad.
