We understand that Instagram’s recent adoption of the 4:5 aspect ratio for feed posts has made it challenging for some of our users who create 1:1 square posts through Ripl. Rest assured, we are hard at work to introduce the 4:5 format to the app! In the meantime, if you’ve already shared a Ripl post to Instagram, you can use Instagram’s “Adjust Preview” feature to modify each post and ensure it fits seamlessly in your feed. Here's a simple step-by-step guide:
Adjusting the Preview on the Instagram Mobile App
Open the Post
Go to your Instagram profile and tap on the post you want to adjust
Tap the Three Dots Menu
In the top-right corner of the post, tap the three dots to open the options menu.
Select “Edit”
From the menu, select the “Edit” option. This will allow you to make adjustments to the post.
Adjust the Preview
Once in Edit mode, look for the “Adjust Preview” option (represented by a crop or expand icon). Tap it to modify the post’s aspect ratio to 4:5.
Reposition Your Post
Drag and reposition the image or video within the frame to ensure all key elements are visible and properly aligned.
Save Your Changes
After making the adjustments, tap “Done” or “Save” to update the post and check how it looks in your Feed.
Adjusting the Preview on the Instagram Mobile Web Version
Open the Post
Visit www.instagram.com on your mobile browser and log in to your account.
Navigate to your profile and tap on the post you want to adjust.
Tap the Three Dots Menu
Tap the three dots in the top-right corner of the post to open the options menu.
Select “Edit”
Choose the “Edit” option to enter the editing mode for the post.
Adjust the Preview
If the “Adjust Preview” option is available, use it to change the aspect ratio of the post to 4:5. Reposition the content as necessary.
Save Your Changes
Tap “Save” or “Done” to update your post.
Adjusting the Preview on Instagram’s Desktop Version
Currently, Instagram’s desktop version does not support the “Adjust Preview” feature. To make changes, please use the mobile app or mobile web version of Instagram.
