Why did my Instagram account get disconnected from Ripl?

When you connect an Instagram account to the Ripl app, it is authorized to stay connected for 60 days. When 60 days pass, the authorization needs to be refreshed, for the Instagram account to stay connected. While this process is automated with the Public Instagram accounts, it becomes impossible if the Instagram account is set to Private mode. This is why an Instagram account may disconnect from the Ripl app - if it is switched to Private in Instagram settings, the authorization for it cannot be renewed automatically.

If you don't want to switch your Instagram account to the Public mode (so that only your followers can see the content you publish on Instagram,) all you need to do is to reconnect it to the Ripl app in the Social Media Accounts section of Settings, so to re-authorize Ripl to access Instagram. Please note that it will need to be reconnected again after 60 days.

If, on the other hand, you would like to avoid such situations in the future and have Instagram connected anytime, you'll want to switch your Instagram account to the Public mode by following the steps below on either your computer or your mobile device.

Computer: Follow this link and un-check the "Private Account" option, as seen in the screenshot. Alternatively, click on your logo in the upper right corner of the Instagram home screen, select "Settings" and then "Privacy and Security" to reach the "Private Account" option.

Mobile: In the Instagram app, select the Profile tab in the far right of the bottom toolbar, then tap on three stripes in the upper right corner of the screen, then "Settings." In Settings, tap on "Privacy" to turn off the top "Private Account" option as seen in the screenshot.

Having performed the steps above, return to the Ripl app and reconnect your Instagram account. From now on, it should not get disconnected.
